Overview

Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá was founded durring the early 9th century, by Bluetip Eurypterids. The establishment of Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá's construction back out of the project. Bluetip Eurypterids pushed on reguardles, and Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá was built using the conventions of Gnoll durring the early 9th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of premissive flagstone streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The city rests behind the absurdity that is a thick, timber braced, wall made of clay bricks. While visualy impressive and certainly an astetic, Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá's wall provides no actual defence against siege equipment due to the choice of its cosntruction materials. Even nonexperts can tell the town is trying to impress rather than defend with its walls, towers, and gatehouses. Though admittedly, they do look nice... To primitive tribals who have never seen fortifications before. Astonishigly, the political statment focused walls are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are smiling, quietly exchanging words with a friend, or simply enjoying the day as they work. It reminds you of an evening at home as everyone dined, having run out of things to talk about and embraced the savory meal before them.

Cultural Notes

Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..

Points of Interest

Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá has been cursed with some blight that makes life difficult, albeit not impossible. An offended sorcerer's vengeful Working, an outraged god's wrath, a local distortion of the Legacy, or a simple history of bad feng shui in the area may have brought the curse about. I(devise not only the curse, but the reason why the locals haven't left for better lands).

Slæ̈rn Odkéi-kïszá is known for its well built pedestrian paths, which include foot bridges to cross the main street at several high-traffic areas.

POI
